How to Migrate PEAQ to Metamask
How to Migrate PEAQ to Metamask for the DEUS Genesis Auction
PEAQ on Substrate
If you currently hold PEAQ on the Substrate network, you'll need to migrate it to an EVM-compatible wallet (e.g., Metamask) to participate in the genesis auction. While your PEAQ tokens are on the correct network (peaq network), they are using a Substrate addressing scheme that isnβt compatible with the auction requirements. Hereβs how you can move your PEAQ tokens to an EVM wallet:
Set Up Your EVM Wallet:
Create a new EVM wallet using Metamask or connect your hardware wallet (e.g., Ledger) to Metamask.
Keep your Ethereum address (Public Key) handy for the next steps.
Convert Substrate to EVM Addressing Scheme:
You need to determine the Substrate address associated with your Metamask EVM address. This requires an online address converter.
Visit a reliable address conversion website.
Input your Ethereum address (Public Key) into the converter.
Select the following settings:
Address Scheme:
H160
Address Prefix:
42
Copy the generated Substrate address.
Transfer PEAQ Tokens:
Send a small test transaction from your Substrate wallet to the converted Substrate address.
Once confirmed, transfer the desired amount of PEAQ tokens to the converted address.
Verify Tokens in Metamask:
Open Metamask and switch to the peaq network.
Confirm that your PEAQ tokens appear in your EVM wallet.
Once youβve successfully transferred your PEAQ tokens to Metamask, you can connect your wallet to the genesis auction platform to verify your balance.
PEAQ on Ethereum (Coinlist Participants)
For participants of the PEAQ token launch on Coinlist, your PEAQ tokens are currently wrapped on the Ethereum network. To use them in the genesis auction, follow these steps to bridge your tokens to the peaq network:
Access the Stargate Bridge:
Use the Stargate bridge from LayerZero for the token migration.
Visit the peaq portal for details: peaq Portal Bridge.
Alternatively, go directly to Stargate: Stargate Bridge.
Bridge Your Tokens:
Connect your Metamask wallet to Stargate.
Select the amount of PEAQ tokens to bridge.
Execute the transaction.
Confirm the Tokens:
Switch to the peaq network in Metamask.
Confirm that the bridged PEAQ tokens appear in your wallet.
Once completed, your PEAQ tokens are ready to participate in the genesis auction.
PEAQ on Centralized Exchanges
If you hold PEAQ on a centralized exchange that supports withdrawals to the peaq EVM network, you can directly transfer your PEAQ tokens to Metamask. All supported exchanges hold PEAQ on EVM, so no conversion or bridging is necessary.
Withdraw PEAQ to Metamask:
Log into your exchange account.
Choose PEAQ and select Withdraw (ensure the withdrawal is directed to peaq EVM).
Enter your Metamask wallet address as the withdrawal destination.
Confirm the transaction and ensure it is being sent to the peaq network.
Add PEAQ to Metamask:
Open Metamask and switch to the peaq network. If you havenβt added the peaq network to Metamask, follow the peaq wallet setup guide.
Add the PEAQ token to Metamask.
Verify Tokens:
Check your Metamask wallet to confirm the PEAQ tokens have been successfully deposited.
Important Notes:
Always perform small test transactions before transferring large amounts of tokens.
Ensure Metamask is set up with the peaq network. Instructions for adding the network can be found here.
By following these steps, youβll be fully prepared to contribute to the DEUS Genesis Auction.
